Product Description
Heka Medicals India Private Limited has developed an indigenous medical device “HEKAFLO” for High Flow Nasal Oxygen therapy. High flow nasal oxygen therapy (also known as HFNO, HFNC) is the first line of defense for patients suffering from acute respiratory distress syndrome, who require oxygenation support.
HekaFlo is tested and conforms to the Electrical safety requirements of IEC 60601-1 and EMI/EMC as per IEC 60601-1-2 . Heka Medicals has already filed Patent for the innovative features of Heka Flo device.
HFNC is relatively a new treatment methodology for respiratory humidification therapy for infants, neonates, pediatric and adult patients with ARDS ( Acute respiratory distress syndrome).
Heka Flo high-flow nasal cannula oxygen therapy (HFNC) device is an innovative respiratory support system for the treatment of spontaneously breathing hypoxic patients with 100% humidified and heated oxygen at a flow rate of up to 60 LPM. This treatment is highly effective for patients with Post-COVID complications having difficulty in breathing or shortness of breath.
HFNC is an effective and safe initial respiratory support treatment in children less than two years with mild to moderate respiratory failure due to pneumonia.
The advantages of HFNC machines
• HFNC machine can reduce respiratory dead space, improve alveolar ventilation, generate a certain positive airway pressure, reduce respiratory work, and effectively improve oxygenation.
• Improve upper airway resistance and respiratory function.
• High-flow heating, humidification and oxygen supply, good humidification improves the movement of cilia on the airway mucosal surface, which is conducive to the removal of secretions.
• The oxygen concentration is constant.
• Reduce the probability of invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation.
• The operation process of HFNC machine is simple and easy to understand.
• Through the heating and humidifying device, the gas can be made to reach the most suitable temperature and humidity of the human body, thereby improving patient's tolerance and comfort.
• Compared with the non-invasive breathing machine mask's oxygen ventilation, the nasal high-flow oxygen supply is more successful than the mask oxygen therapy.
• HFNC machine can improve comfort and tolerance of patients, improve oxygenation, and reduce hypoxemia.
• The HFNC machine has a small nasal tube and loose fit to avoid pressure sores on the face and nasal alar caused by tight mask wearing. Gas heating and humidification can promote the discharge of sputum.
• Patients can eat, drink, talk, communicate and sleep while using the HFNC machine.
• The HFNC machine is widely used in clinical practice as a new respiratory support technology device. It has a positive therapeutic effect on patients with mild to moderate hypoxic respiratory failure, which can relieve symptoms, improve quality of life, and reduce hospitalization costs, worthy of clinical promotion.
Disease for which the HFNC machine suitable for:
• It can be applied to acute hypoxic respiratory failure type I respiratory failure;
• Patients with respiratory failure without tracheal intubation;
• Before and after tracheal intubation or tracheotomy and extubation;
• Painless bronchoscopy auxiliary treatment (HFNC machine is used in painless fiber bronchoscopy, which makes anesthesia effect good, greatly improves patient's comfort, and provides the operator with a good working condition);
• Patients after surgery;
• Patients with cardiac insufficiency after cardiac surgery, etc.
