Vessel Performance & Efficiency Optimization Platform for Vessel Owning Division

About Transworld Group

Transworld, a leader in global logistics and trade, is inviting innovative startups to co-create solutions for real business challenges in shipping, warehousing, sales, and automation.

Problem Statement

About Ship Owning at Transworld: Transworld’s ship owning division comprises Transworld Shipping Lines ltd (Formerly known as Shreyas Shipping & Logistics Ltd.) and Oriental Express Lines (OEL), managing a modern fleet of container and dry bulk vessels operating across the Indian Subcontinent, Middle East, and Southeast Asia. SSL leads India’s coastal and containerized cargo movement, while OEL provides international feeder and regional shipping services.

Goal: Deploy a maritime performance intelligence suite that enhances vessel fuel efficiency, predicts maintenance needs, and enables data-driven voyage optimization.

Background & Challenge:

With increasing regulatory and sustainability pressures, rising bunker fuel costs, and evolving shipping lane risks, Transworld’s ship owning division must shift from reactive to predictive operations. Current vessel management systems provide fragmented data, lacking an integrated performance view across fleet, voyage, and environmental variables.

Scope of Work:

  • Develop an end-to-end platform (integrated with existing vessel systems like VDR, AIS, ECDIS, and ERP) to deliver:
  • Fuel efficiency optimization based on speed, load, weather, & hull condition analytics • Voyage planning intelligence incorporating weather routing, port congestion forecasts, and historical delays
  • Predictive maintenance via engine telemetry, vibration patterns, oil analysis, and component stress modelling
  • Condition monitoring dashboards for CII, EEOI, MRV, and SEEMP metrics — mapped to compliance alerts
  • Comparative analytics: benchmark performance across vessels, engine types, routes, and captains

Outcome:

A data layer that transforms vessel operations from manual logbooks to a connected intelligence ecosystem, driving:

  • 15% fuel savings per voyage
  • Lower unplanned downtime
  • Improved voyage profitability and carbon compliance
  • Empowered technical & commercial decision-making

Eligibility
